Lamont Swittenberg

Lamont is responsible for overall stewardship of Luminosity Marketing’s operations and outputs. He also directly leads the firm’s Brand Planning & Strategy function. His primary role is to ensure quality control over all client work, intellectual capital and agency marketing materials. His goal is to inspire the Luminosity team to achieve superior insights for our clients and to foster innovation across our Connections Planning and Marketing Communications Research practices.
Prior to joining Luminosity, Lamont spent 20 years in client-side consumer and brand marketing roles across multiple industries, including packaged goods, wireless, financial services, hospitality and consumer electronics. Most recently he was Vice President of Marketing at Virgin Mobile USA, where he led a team responsible for advertising and marketing strategy, consumer messaging and program execution. Prior to Virgin Mobile, Lamont worked in brand management and marketing leadership positions for trademarks such as Hewlett-Packard, Coca-Cola, Sprite, Schweppes, Harrah’s Entertainment and Citibank.
Lamont is an expert speaker on the topics of brand positioning, mobile marketing and research, and media and culture analysis. He is a frequent speaker at conferences, including events at the Columbia Business School,
Microsoft’s Blacks in Technology Symposium, Interep's Power of Urban Radio and New York's Diversity In Advertising forum. He has been quoted in BrandWeek, Vibe, Deliver Magazine and numerous technology, marketing and music blogs.
Lamont has a B.S. in Marketing from The University of Virginia and an MBA from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is an avid commentator on contemporary media and popular culture. In his spare time he enjoys reading coming-of-age novels, working on his own first work of fiction and keeping his hip hop music blog, Lamont’s Lists, up to date.
